Madden Releases at 12 Midnight

August 13, 2007

That’s right folks, it’s everyone’s favorite time of year. It’s not Valentine’s day or Thanksgiving. It’s not even Christmas. It’s Madden Release Time.

At 12AM tonight/this morning, hundreds of kids (and adults) will line up outside of stores to purchase this year’s copy of Madden NFL 2008.

Electronic Arts sold 7.4 million copies in North America last year, and this year’s game is expected to beat that. Electronic Arts has a monopoly on football games thanks to an exclusive agreement with the National Football League signed in 2005.

On this years cover will be Tennessee Titan’s QB Vince Young. In past years, the athlete who has graced the cover of Madden have been “cursed.” That is, either injured or victims of terrible seasons. Young is reported to be fine about the idea of the curse and feels he will break it in the upcoming year.

Early rumors say the game has “too many turnovers.” Lets hope cover-man Young can avoid those.

QB Young Sits; Titans Lose Opener

August 12, 2007

The Tennesee Titans lost their opening preseason game against the Washington Redskins by the score of 14-6.

Last year’s rookie of the year, quarterback Vince Young sat out the loss for violating a “team rule.”

Rumors say that the team rule had to do with Young missing curfew for staying at his home instead of the hotel where the rest of the team was staying.

Obviously, if this violation came in the regular season, Young would have started if he slept in the hotel or set up a tent on a street corner.

Young will practice and play in next week’s preseason game against the Patriots.
